Great product. If you're thinking about buying this, then do it!
This was by far, one of the best books I've ever read and I've read many classics. I agree, though, that if you have seen the movie, most of the book seems a bit disappointing. If you haven't seen the film and are thinking about buying the book, then dont watch it, read this book first and you'll find many surprises in store. But overall, it was a wonderful reading experience, my compliments to Benchley, and I felt a tad disappointed at how quickly it ended. It would have been great to have read more.

An Underrated Masterpiece Boxset
This boxset is undoubtedly the best addition to the Criterion Collection and deserves to be seen! Every film is a hidden gem in its own right and the range of nations covered is arguably very comprehensive. If not for this I don't think I would know anything about the Kazakh New Wave, Turkish cinema, filmmaker Lino Brocka, or early silent Brazilian cinema, much less watch any of the respective films provided here. The special features available on here are just right - minimal but not oversaturated and the Scorsese introductions are always welcome! The price tag is very hefty, sure, but if you can grab this even at $70-80 it's more than worth it for any lover of world cinema or cinema in general. Highly recommended!
