Medal of Honor Allied Assault War Chest for Windows
War Chest is a collection containing the original Allied Assault + the add on games Spearhead and Breakthrough. Allied Assault was the original 2nd World War first person shooter from the Medal of Honor series, and in my opinion the best of its day. Famed for it's 3rd level that emulates the D-Day landings on Omaha beach, i feel it gave a true representation of how difficult it must have been to survive that experience. It was also popularized and perhaps inspired by the movie Private Ryan released about the same time. I bought and played it many years ago on a 1gb Athlon and old 32mb Nvidia GTS and thought "great game..... be good to play again, newer comp and card with specs maxed out." This proved to be true albeit the graphics a little dated by 2011 standards but the game play is still great, all that glitters is not necessarily gold. But , and its a big BUT, if you are useing a newer ATI card and drivers , chances are the game will freeze up. Played fantastic for me on a HD3870 on the 8 series drivers till the end of the 2nd level, then screen freeze. Newer drivers up to the 11 series just seem to make the problem worse. Checked it out online, many forums, and its a pretty universal problem with the game on ATI cards, tried net fixes, none seemed to work for me. The problem it would seem lies with ATI OpenGL drivers ! ATI have never released a fix for it. Nvidia have made their openGL drivers backwards compatible and people experience no similar problems ! So , I would recommend War Chest if you have a Nvidia graphics card ,its a great package , but if you are running an ATI HD series card.......then buy at your own risk! (ATI cards below this on generic drivers may still play it) Still if it plays, for what you pay for it now *****

    Very good
Bought this monitor from Misco Direct on Ebay for my son. At Β£84 a steal! The first one I received had an intermittent fault ,returned and replaced at no cost to myself by LG. So after sales service is 5 stars. Set it up on my own system and tried it out. Have to say I thought it was superior to my own monitor an LG L226W connected by DVI. Probably the biggest complaint with this monitor is it has only a VGA connection, no DVI or HDMI. Still through VGA , still a better more defined display and HD as well !! Seems to be some confusion on the net over whether VGA can carry HD resolutions. Well it can, actually with a good cable it can transmit higher resolutions. Should be noted the monitor is 16/9 rather than the 16/10 as with older 22" models. Makes little difference with movies as most are 16/9 and you just omit the black bars at the bottom of the screen. Flaws, well obviously the lack of DVI , most modern cards only come with DVI but a convert can be had for next to nothing. No HDMI, limits your use. The supplied VGA cable is cheap , if it was my own monitor I would replace it immediately , may improve what is already an excellent product. I paid near Β£200 for my own monitor and this beats its picture quality. HD resolution, LED back light (which I am impressed with) makes this an excellent buy if your needs fit within its limitations. At the price, would go on my list of improvements!
