Virginia history
This non-fiction book is well researched, beautifully written and illustrated, concerning a murder in 1854 in Lexington, Virginia. The subject is a fascinating story with many interesting persons, including the future "Stonewall" Jackson, as well as a vivid recreation of a fascinating Southern honor-driven tragedy. A great "read."

Draws attention to the subject.
Very interesting and nicely written novel that also is based on research. The character of Maria Feodorovna as depicted is much like the personality of the historical figure. I seldom read novels, only non-fiction, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
