Gene Simmons calls it how he sees it, big ego, bad wig and all, a good read
Well, Gene does not dissapoint, he rules the world...in his eyes! A lot of this book makes good practical sense, other things he says however are nuts! Dont buy a house until you can pay cash for one ? Uhuh...sure Gene, its Ok when youre a Rock Star! As a KISS fan I bought this to see what he had to say, and he certainly calls it how he sees it.
Gene is a self made man for sure, but he forgets a lot of people who helped him along the way! He would have gotten a fair share of hate mail from women over this book, but hes honest. All in all a good read, mostly for KISS fans, but in general his perspective on life is interesting. He claims one should work EVERY day, and NEVER have a vacation as he never has, well, sorry Gene, but most of your adult LIFE has been a paid for global tour/vacation, 5 star hotels, stardom, perks, women, the lot, if thats working every day can I have your job? He basically suggests you should not buy ANYTHING you dont need, its a waste of money, maybe all the KISS fans should stop buying KISS products then ? Gene is larger than life, and he has an ego you could not jump over, but he has done very very well, I will be a KISS fan for life, but to follow the rules in this book, you would have a boring life, no vacation, no hobbies, no wife (never marry, which he now has! ) and probably never own a home, still you gotta love the man for who and what he is... bad wig and all, the book is worth buying.
