Then there were Three
I had this on audio cassette a number of years ago and I played it to death. It is The Sweets first offering after Brian Connolly left the band. It sounds crazy but even with Brian gone, this is still The Sweet! The same wall of sound can be heard in their vocal harmonies and as proven by Andy Scott when recording Love is like oxygen. He himself was well capable of doing more than vocal 4 parts on the chorus by himself. This album contains great songs with great melody. The single lifted from this was 'Call Me' as sung by Steve Priest and has an infectious calypso groove and I mean infectious. Like the best Sweet albums there are no bad tracks on this. I'm particularly wrapped by the availability of this new cover and it tones up lovely with the inside of 'Level Headed' that being audio cassette artwork, this being reel to reel. Lets face it, the original sleeve was embarrassing 'identity crisis' says it all! But where do ageing rockers from the 70's go but kicking and screaming into the 80's as exemplified by the lyrics in Discophony. Enjoy this guys, as I said, it not only stands up with the others. It holds it's own! a must have for any fan.
