The Daiwa Laguna casting reel feels like a $100 reel
The Daiwa Laguna casting reel feels like a $100 reel. I have several and they are my go-to choice for everyday rods. They are built well, feel right and seem to last. I've had a couple for 4 or 5 years and have used them regularly and they still feel good. Of course like any reel, you have to clean and lubricate them every once in a while. While they won't replace my more expensive reels on my best rods, they are a great value on their own and feel right at home on a $100 fishing rod.

Classic and reliable
2 of 2 found this helpful These Ambassadeur reels are great old classics. They aren't quite as smooth as some of the newer reels, and don't have some of the bells and whistles but they are iron clad and proven. And they can be had for a fraction of the price of the new stuff. They are still in use 20-30 after being sold and still perform well. I have several and will buy more as long as they are offered.
