Drums of Fu Manchu (VHS, 2001, 2-Tape Set, Double-Pack)

One of the best movie serials ever made!
Echos of "The Drums of Fu Manchu" can be heard (or I should say) seen in so many1980s action movies it's practically the Cliffs Notes for the genre. A copy surely must have been passed between those two friends who made that little film about that archeologist with a bullwhip fetish. Many have said that you'll see no finer portrayal of the insidious Fu Manchu than in this fast paced serial and it could be true. I haven't seen too many portrayals aside from Peter Sellers and Christopher Lee to be honest. Henry Brandon is appropriately menacing and fiendish in all the best ways. I would rate him right up there with Charles Middleton's Ming the Merciless in terms of movie serial villainy. Props must be given to the terrific stunt men who go above and beyond in this one. Highly recommended for lovers of the action movie genre. Go watch this!

The Kinks Lola and The Powerman/Money-go-Round cassette.
0 of 1 found this helpful Excellent cassette of an essential album by the under appreciated Kinks. The whole album is a highlight-but "This Time Tomorrow" stands out for its melancholy lyrics and beautiful melody. Great music.
