Exactly what you need for the Star Adventurer Motorized Mount
The EQ base does exactly what it is designed to do - makes the process of polar aligning the Star Adventurer Motorized Mount a breeze. There are fine tuning knobs to dial in your scope in the altitude and azimuth directions. It is die cast and really solid and sturdy. I mount mine to a builders tripod and it's solid as a rock. The bubble level does the job as well. I've been able to take 12 minute exposures with my DSLR after aligning the mount on this EQ base the stars tracked perfectly over the 12 minutes without streaking.
They sell this for $65 retail and that seems a little spendy but, without this base, polar alignment would be a pain in the rear.

Make sure it's the "New Style" with the thicker string clamping rubber!
2 of 2 found this helpful This capo works great if you have the "new style" that ships with blue printed product packaging.
The original version of this capo had a thinner rubber that clamped against the strings and, due to the thinner rubber, there is not enough clearance over the open bass string and it would buzz on the capo. The old version was packaged in brown printed packaging.
G7th has corrected this problem and the newer style cut capo's have a much thicker rubber that clamps the strings. The new style easily clears the open bass string and they work great.
The capo is light and unobtrusive. It's easy to reach over so you can fret the bass string on the nut side of the capo.
I really like the fact that you have great control of the clamping pressure.
The only issue I have is that, for my guitar fret board curvature, the curvature of the rubber is a little too curved. In standard tuning, my 'B' string needs a touch more clamping to get the capo to press it to the fret. This is most likely just my guitar.
None the less, this is a great capo. I was so impressed I bought three Newport capos (one regular capo and two cut capos).
