great "steel" tone
I play in a metal band and prefer the sound of the stainless steel strings over the nickel ones. I love the brightness and the punch they provide, but always hated the "touch" and how they are eating my fingers.
Tried the Elixirs I got what I wanted. Great tone, soft touch, easy (and faster) playing. Definitely lasts longer than an usual stainless steel set, but after a couple of months the coating layer started to peel off of the strings :-(
