Lightweight, but needs to be read if you are a fan
The book is fairly standard Uthred. The story seemed a might weak to me, but tidied up some loose ends. The story could have been covered in less space, as part of a more detailed tale. It is very easy to read, I finished it in 3 x 1 hour sessions. Needs to be read if Uthred is to roam again, as it seems, he will.

The end of an era
Great way to finish the Uthred saga. Well researched with just enough historical detail not to overshadow the storyline.

Ravenspur
Having read the previous 3 novels in the series I was expecting more from this one. I was left just a little disappointed, but the content is based on fact, so there was little to work with. as a series, it is well rounded, but not as strong as the Emperor or Conqueror series. I will continue to follow Conn Iggulden as he a good English storyteller.
