Not a good engine- avoid Proto 2

Some MTH proto 2 locomotives have questionable sound and reversing boards. This is the second one with that problem- the PA RR Q2 and now the NYC Niagara. It basically failed. I would suggest that any Proto 2 engine buyer consider this likelihood and source, through a reputable hobby shop that does repairs, - a simple electronic reversing unit that will provide for lights and reversing w/o sound smoke etc.

K Line heavyweights a good bet

K line made several fine heavyweight sets early on 20 years ago. This was a sleeper and may have been an add on to either 4 or 5 car sets.
