If you love the MK series, go ahead and buy it but don't expect magic.

I have been playing Mortal Kombat since it was released when I was a kid, and I can say this one is a 8/10 or maybe 8.5. I love the challenge tower, it is fun and good to keep your interest with random and sometime infuriating little tasks. The the story mode is seriously lacking. I read someone describe is as a B movie vibe, and I totally agree. It is nice to include a story mode period, however this one would have been better with a previous game's spin on it. I will say it is enjoyable to get some serious back story on some of the characters, but again, it doesn't compete with previous games. The regular fighting mode is solid, and since the game SERIOUSLY encourages you to learn fatalities, you will impress and entertain yourself/others. The Krypt is just what you would expect. The graphics are OK, I would expect better.
