Fill it up and let it run. Ice made easy.
This is a great little ice maker. It makes the largest "thimble" type ice cube every 15 minutes, or 48 cubes / 400g of ice per hour. This is almost 10kg in 24hr, which is a bet less than the advertised 15kg per 24hr. However, the small and medium settings have shorter cycle times, and perhaps they produce more but smaller ice cubes on those settings.
Note that there is an instruction on the unit indicating you should wait at least 2 hours before the initial use to allow the refrigerant to settle, but the manual says 12 hours. I left it overnight with the lid open to let the plastic odours gas off, before giving it a wash.
The unit is fully automatic until it either runs out of water or fills with ice. Fill the water up to the bottom of the ice tray, select the cube size (I always pick the largest, as the smaller sizes melt too quickly), and let it run.
Cool or cold water gives better results. If the water is at room temperature, let the unit run for two or three cycles and allow the ice to fall back into the water tank, cooling the water, then put the ice tray back in.

Sinker mould not worth your time. Quality very poor for casting.
Casting was warped. All castings showed "finning" where molten lead flows between cavities, joining them. The same happens along the wire to form the hole for the fishing line: molten lead flowed along the wire, joining the sinkers together. What a mess. I need to find another brand.

Dull light, poor beam, hardly useful, buy something else. Garbage.
0 of 1 found this helpful Feels flimsy, and works just like an crappy old torch, even with the wonderful yellowish, vague beam. A little $5 LED torch will do a better job by a long way. The only redeeming feature is the four-position head. To sell such a torch WITHOUT a battery or charger for $40+ and for it to perform so poorly must be a Makita marketing success. I wish I'd tried one out before I made the purchase. As you'd expect, it was bought because I already had several 18V batteries from various Makita cordless tools on hand. I should have put the same cash into a better torch, and so should you. It's junk.
