MAHALO Wooden Soprano Ukulele Transparent Blue & Bag Kahiko Series MK1TBU
12 September 2016
Good starter uke
This is a nice starter ukulele. It is very pretty, and is a fair bit lighter to hold than other laminated ukuleles. The strings are OK, but you will need to let them stretch before they stop going flat (as is the case with all uke strings), so be prepared to retune constantly to begin with. Everything does its job, even the woven polyester/whatever gig bag, but I don't use it all the time as I found the tuners can catch on it if I'm not careful. All in all I'd say it's pretty good value for money, but it feels a bit too light for travelling or camping (if thats your fancy). However, if you're thinking of a first toe in the water ukulele, this could be the one for you.

Seiko SNK803 Wristwatch
06 April 2016
Outstanding value for money
This watch has Seiko quality at a bargain price. As a mechanical watch, it will not be as accurate as many quartz ones, but it will never need a battery either. It's also important not to overrate the accuracy, my one gains a few seconds, which means over two months I may be a minute or two fast, which can be corrected when I alter the date. It's not a massive watch by modern standards, so if that's your thing it's a non-starter, but on the other hand it will be OK for smaller wrists, or tastes. The face is clear and functional, and you can see the workings through the window in the back, if there's nothing better to do. Being automatic means it winds itself by the movement of your arm, or by swinging it around, as you cannot wind it manually, so don't try. It's been heralded as a good introduction to automatic, or even mechanical watches, and that may well be true; I personally think that you won't find a better watch at this price, so if you like the way it looks, buy it!
