I use to wear a backpack
I bout this with the intention of getting rid of the backpack. it move the weight to a more balanced location. instead of the backpack hanging all the weight off the rear. I wear an XL chest protector and it fits around that. So it is extremely adjustable for many sizes. I have ridden several 3 day rides and it is always comfortable. The vest is lightweight when empty; But it can get heavy if you load too much. I don't carry tools in the pocket that is made for tools but you could easily stick a few in it.
And I put a 3 Liter camel back bag in it for all day rides.
The 2 liters is probably enough on most days. (equal to 4 water bottles) But I DON'T want to run out of water out riding.
And most of the time we are in the wilderness for the whole day.
