Easier than swapping the memory card in and out.
Using the cable is simpler than removing the sd card and inserting it into the pc, and then replacing the card into the camera when finished. The problem is the picture quality is poorer when using the cable vs using the card directly.

produced poor quality copies
The unit worked well for the first fifty or so copies, then began to create vertical smudged bands. The print quality got worse and the cartridge had to be replaced.
