Great if you want to learn half of a song.
Songs are not fully tabbed. For example, Comfortably Numb has two solos yet only the first solo is included. The tabs that are given are the very basic riff of the song. This is for beginners only and even then you wont be able to play the song, you will be able to play main riffs and a couple solos. This is a waste of time.

Great tones in this box.
I have owned my fair share of pedals. This is a great high gain to metal pedal. I doesn't do low gain well, but that's not what it's for. It has great tone although it may take some time to dial in. I find the loose mode to be useless. The tight mode is where the magic is. Replaced the Digitech Metal Master(amazing pedal as well) on my board. Highly recommend both.

A "classic" that has been surpassed and needs to be retired!!!!
1 of 1 found this helpful I just don't get the obsession with the DS-1! I bought the stock DS-1 and promptly returned it. There is nothing musical about this pedal. The limited distortion sounds thin and raspy with no sustain. While researching pedals I discovered the Keeley mod DS-1. This mod was said to resolve the issues inherent in the stock DS-1. I gave it a shot and was still disappointed. Plus, Keeley Mods are not cheap. I sold it on this site for a loss. There are better pedals in both of these price ranges. Tone is subjective, but don't say I didn't warn you.
