Numerous issues with product.
I have never written a negative review or feedback...until now.
First, the power supply is very weak and insufficient for the roll of LEDs. Beyond 40-50 LEDs if you add more the output visibly dims. You will need to find or purchase a 12v. power supply that supplies higher amperage to get the proper maximum effect from the LEDs. I found a 12v. 'wall wort' with higher amperage output and the LEDs were of proper light output regardless of how many LED segments I added. If you only need a very short run the supplied power supply will be fine, but no not expect it to run even a quarter of the roll without dimming substantially.
The instructions on the controller remote say to remove the protective insulator from the remote before attempting to operate, but the battery had been removed from the remote. You will need to purchase a CR2025 battery for the remote if you want to use it.
The tape on the LED strip is very weak and in my case would not stick to clean plastic. I had to use cellophane tape over it to secure the LED strip and keep it from falling off or pulling away.
If you cut the strip and use 8mm strip connectors to link them be prepared for a challenge. What is SUPPOSED to happen is, as you slide the tape strip into the connector the solderless tabs are supposed to slide under the overlaying plastic insulator and make contact with the copper pad connectors. On my roll the overlaying plastic would not separate and was strongly adhered to the copper tabs. It is a labor-intensive process to try and peel the overlaying plastic off so that the connectors can make proper contact. If you cut or trim off the plastic the connectors will NOT clamp down properly and the LED strip will simply pull away. If you do not have excellent eyesight, great patience and a steady hand you can damage the copper contacts and you will need to cut away that LED segment and start over.
It could be that I have an old or poor quality batch. Others seem to have had better luck. But the missing remote battery, weak power supply, poor adhesion of the tape and extreme difficulty making reliable connections with the strip left me frustrated and disappointed.
