Good summary of common lines in The Modern Defence
It's getting a little old now; there are some neat lines discussed; probably should have it if you're going to play The Modern Defence.

very low budget; not made well; but the story line is compelling.
Technically the chess in the movie is horrible, from the moves, to the running of the tournament - this could not have been made by someone who is actually knows something about chess. Though there is no mention of direct mention of god and christianity, I'm betting this is a Christian movie.
I really liked the story line, how everyone (teacher, counselor, father) is beating down the dreams of the main character. Yet he keeps on going. I think this would have been a great novel. It's just visually this movie is really lacking something.
