Good for the money
So I was in the market for an arbor press and I’m a...well...frugal guy. Plus this was for something that is a hobby so it’s not like I want the best for my business.
Anyway, I settled on this press from Zoro. It came well packaged. The arbor was upside down (as mentioned in other reviews) with the arbor hole at the top, but with little effort it was swapped around.
Then I noticed the depth of the arbor hole was too deep for the magnet inside to Work for the eyelet dies I bought from Knifekits so to the grinder/dremel cutoff blade I went. About 15 minutes later all done.
Next, I ground off the bottom two teeth on the arbor to make it a ratcheting system (I need to go back and grind a little more...gets stuck on one of the teeth).
Also the plate have tapered openings so the bottom die won’t sit correctly. I’m going to have to drill out the plate or make a plate for the die to rest.
With the die sitting on the plate, I pressed the first string of eyelets. I may need to make a longer bar for it to be a bit easier, but still not a lot of force needed.
All in all a good tool!
