Complete Crew Cut solution
1 of 1 found this helpful I recently purchased the Crew Cut as I need to keep my hair short for medical reasons & was initially worried by a few less than positive reviews.
The packaging is not over the top & the contents are better than I was expecting with the
Crew Cut Hair Clipper
1 x Adjustable comb attachment
1 x Power cord
1 x Small cleaning brush
1 x Pair of scissors
1 x Comb
1 x Small bottle of oil
1 x Small battery operated, adjustable clipper(for trimming around ears & beards etc)
1 x a draw string bag to put it all in
Along with the instruction manual & warranty card.. all in all not a bad little kit for $119 AUD.
The initial charging process is a little drawn out but for the best long term performance of the battery it's well advised to follow the procedure. The unit has an astounding amount of run time on a full charge & considering how long it takes to give yourself a cut, around 5 minutes after the initial cut, then this is a superb feature alone.
I have a very lumpy, broken, scarred head with moles on my scalp(the reason I keep my hair short) & have been trimming my hair with traditional clippers for years. This usually takes a good 1/2 hour to do properly & I can assure you I walk away bleeding from the process. I found the Crew cut easy & very natural to use & when the instructions are followed it cuts brilliantly. I removed the comb after initial cut to achieve a very short cut as I like it & the Crew Cut was amazing.. not one cut mole & a wonderful close even cut all over.
The ONLY draw back that I can name if I'm being really picky is that the Crew Cut cannot get in close to ears etc.. BUT, that's why it has a small trimmer included in the package.

The Crew Cut has been a brilliant purchase & has made the tedious chore of keeping my hair short a breeze, I wish they'd been around years ago.

Surprising quality.
My first impression of the TAC100 was that they are a little tight on my big head & that worried me so I plugged them into my phone, put on one of my favourite albums & walked around for a day with them on. They are a very snug fit but extremely comfortable, even to work in so I'm confident they'll be fine for hunting. They have a nice slim fit design though the ear cups are big enough for even my huge wing nuts, are very easily adjustable & fold down to a compact ball very easily.
The mic's are very sensitive, too sensitive when turned up but very easily managed with the volume knob that is very tactile & easy to use with gloves on. The first time I used them I left them turned one, actually I've left them on a few times & was worried that I'd be going through batteries at a rapid rate. Not the case at all, they switch off automatically after a short time if not used, a feature that I love because I've never got batteries in the shooting vehicle or bag.
Their noise suppression really surprised me, I took them out for their fist real test to sight in my new .308 & they performed flawlessly blocking out anything over a quiet hand clap, even blocking out snapping twigs that I was walking on.
All in all I'm immensely impressed with the Peltor TAC100 with my only negative comment being I wish they were available in camo &/or high vis.

Cheap, fast solution.
They're batteries, you put em in & turn it on... It's hard to see a down side on this product as they are exactly what I was expecting.
