Great Weather Station
1 of 1 found this helpful The item I bought was refurbished, but it was in great shape.
Set up was easy. I read a few reviews and figured out that you had to first insert the battery in the sensor before turning on the main display unit. Once you did that, the sensor and display coupled without a problem. I placed the sensor on the north wall of the house (which never gets sunlight). The exterior temperature reading is accurate to the degree. I have cross-checked vs AccuWeather as well as multiple vehicles. Forecast takes a few days to register. But overall, the algorithm generates a fairly accurate picture of the current weather, and what's immediately coming. In fact, it accurately changed from rain to snow for a recent January storm. Interior temperature reading is slow to register, and is usually off by a 1-3 F. But that's not a deal breaker for me.
Display is large and clear. I would have liked to see a historical graph of min and max temperatures. But this is a fairly cheap weather station. There is an option to dim the backlight (to conserve something, I guess -- the life of the unit?). I would have also liked an option of automatically dimming at certain times (for example after 10 pm). Alarm feature can be useful. In the North East, if the house temperature goes below 45, there is the prospect of water pipes freezing. So I've set an alarm if/when interior temp goes below 45.
This is my first weather station and a nice upgrade over having to look at my phone each time in order to figure out what to wear when I take the dog for a walk.
