MMDVM_HS_Dual_Hat Duplex MMDVM Hotspot P25 DMR YSF NXDN Pi Revision 1.3 + OLED

It works but duplex hats are not yet ready?
I purchased this device as a replacement to a faulty device. First off, the +oled discription is not that clear. You need to read further in the product information to find that the device supports oled but it does not come with a oled display. I knew this up front and did not expect an oled device. The output power seems great,I have a 1400 square foot townhouse and it covers everything. Receive capability is also great just using the supplied antennas. This version is locked to the supplied firmware unless you jumper j1? Easy to do with a soldering iron. The power consumption at 5 volts is around 500ma so you can run it all day on a simple 5 volts battery charger. It seems to be happy using Pi-star and configures easy, the frequency error on mine was -230 hz. The downside, using it duplex is frustrating. I use it for NXDN duplex and it works great, but, DMR is another story. I am not sure what the problem is actually. It seems more related to firmware/Pi-star than hardware. You can try and access a talk group a few times without success and then it works. Using an any tone DMR radio and Kenwood DMR/NXDN radio it seems the Kenwood radio works better but I am sure that it is just a setup problem. This is a great thing to play with but I also use a pi3b+ and using a large memory card created problems for receiver but when I went to an old 4 gb card the RX problems disappeared. Again, most likely a pi-star issue. I have recently upgraded to Pi-star 4 rc2 and it seems all is well. My next step is adding an oled or nextion display to see how they perfrom.
MMDVM HS Hat Hotspot +Raspberry pi zero w + 3.2" LCD + 16G SD + Case P25 DMR YSF

Worked first time and keeps going
Purchased this item as a started/fallback MMDVM hotspot. Simplex hotspots have been around for awhile and my duplex hat and Pi 3b+ was a failure(bad hat). This device worked the first time. Booted up and had it going within 15 minutes. Great range and works all modes, even nxdn which is not mentioned in the description. My offset is -450 hz but using the suggest -475 hertz work great as a starting point. The down side it has a few minor concerns. After 2 weeks the DMR LED has become very dim as compared to all the other LEDs. Not a major concern. The supplied 16GB seems to corrupt very easy, I have reformatted it twice now and rebuilt the system and have now given up on it and I am using an old 4GB card.

A 12VDC clock that keeps time, well almost...
I have been looking for the last year for a 12DVC clock that keeps time and this is the best one so far. It does run fast by around 6 seconds a day, about 3 minutes a month, but compared to others that run fast by a minute of more a day this the best I have found. The button location is ok, but to try and correct the time means removing the clock from where it is mounted to gain access to the switches mounted on the edge of the board. When setting the device the display becomes erratic and flashes interestingly... but manageable...
