Wonderful, complete life of Beatrix Potter with pictures
I heard about this book from the Jan Brett website, who is a children's illustrator and author, which made me want to read it since I am am a avid admirer of Beatrix Potter and trust Jan Brett's appraisal of it. This is an older book (2007) so I first checked it out of the library to see if it was really worth buying. It is wonderfully well written, it flows with information and insight but is not boring reading; Linda Lear's research is great and is a full covering of Beatrix's life. It has sections of pictures which is an added plus for one interested in her art and where she lived and her life after "Peter Rabbit". It is a thick book and takes time to read but it's worth it. I was fortunate to find a good copy to buy since I wanted it for my own library.
