Insult to A Truly Good Movie
0 of 2 found this helpful Simply because it is dreadful and the advertising implies it will be a continuation of the original with the same cast line up. It is a totally different story, the former characters have just cameo appearances and an entire new cast is on board. It is such a disappointment after the sheer joy of the true Mamma Mia, where no one cared if the singing was perfect. I could not even warm up to Andy Garcia and he is a favorite. No I will not recommend this to anyone. Just save your money and buy a good film.

Singer Caught Between Two Worlds
1 of 1 found this helpful A film that is one of my favorites because of Neil Diamond, his performance may not be Oscar material, but it is real and true. Unfortunately, I believe that Lucy Arnez and Sir Lawrence Olivier were miscast. It was painful watching Olivier ( a great actor) attempting to portray a Jewish Cantor. And I had difficulty believing that the Jazz singer would give up his home and family for Arnez.. Not a single bit of chemistry between them. Her character and facial expressions were flat. With the right casting and Neil Diamond's music, this should have been a top rated film.
But it is a good film about family values and how oftentimes generations clash over what they want in life. If you are a Diamond fan, this film needs to be in your collection.

Just A Girl and a Boy
1 of 1 found this helpful If I can judge it is a wonderful little film, sweet and sentimental with lots of Hugh Grant humour.
Julia Roberts is lovely and believable. A truly romantic picture, without being offensive, disgusting or crude. A movie that will not change anything, but for pure romance, it is delightful. If a fan of either Mr Grant or Ms Roberts, it surely needs to be in your collection.
