LN-404C is a beast that tames my in the field workflows!
I work with both heavier still cameras (both digital and traditional medium/large format) and with moderate video rigs. This beastie gives me the ability to interchange on the fly and to handle both without issues. It is heavier than many carbon based legs, but the trade-off for stability and build quality is worth it. I fly, bicycle and walk with my rigs and this fits in. I use the bowl and ball for leveling both video and still rigs, replacing the older and quite heavy set of leveling hardware.
I replaced an older aluminum tripod with the LN-404C and I'm not looking back!

3 Simultanious Charges, Small Footprint
Works as advertised. The LCD display is a little difficult to read, but no real complaints. I go through batteries like water, so having 3 slots in a small area of real estate is great for me. I may end up ordering a few more!

Great all around Light Meter for Film, Video and Still Photography
4 of 4 found this helpful Caveat: I'm still learning how to use this beast, but so far it's been easy to learn and easy to work with. I come from using an old (and I mean old) Westen light meter and an old Pentax Spot Meter, so the jump in technology and level of information is remarkable. I'm still using a zone system but also learning to use this meter in my cine work too. So far so good, though I do miss my 1 degree spot view from time to time.
Build quality is very good for the price. It's easy to read the results and readings in many lighting conditions and the data is presented large enough for me not to have to strain or move the device to read them.
I do recommend this puppy to still, video and film makers of all skill levels!
