It is a musical history of the Soundies.
"Soundies" are original musical shorts (think early MTV) created for video jukeboxes in the 1940's preserving performances of some of the greatest entertainers of the period.
This is a well produced and written history of "Soundies," appropriately hosted by Michael Feinstein, the award winning performer, collector and historian of the American Popular Songbook.

Should be retitled "50 American 70's Hits"

Poor Source Material = Poor Quality DVD
Poor quality DVD results from poor quality source material. Only a handful of the film clips are worth watching. Most of the videos are available on other compilations in better condition.
