Not bad...
Not a bad phone, sounds good etc, but just not perfect. I I look cross-eyed at it it seems to randomly open apps, and battery life could be better.

Setup was a nightmare
0 of 1 found this helpful The device was easy to physically set up, my 2TB HD slipped right in and took off just fine. But when I plugged in the 1TB drive in an external case the fun began. I had my old NAS copied to the 1TB drive and spent hours trying to copy that to the new NAS. Once I did, it somehow lost some of the files, and some apparently wound up in the drive's root directory which is a "no-no". I started getting email notifications every 10 minutes that there was an error on root, it was too full and I should not get this error. It would not allow me to access root, it just complained every 10 minutes like a bloomin' cuckoo clock. 144 emails a day, every day.
I finally opened a case with support, and after a week of back and forth they asked for permission to access my drive which I gave. They finally fixed it, and told me how I could get root access, but instead should contact them if it happened again. When I tried to activate root access, the software told me that would cancel tech support and don't do it.
Once I finally got the thing working, all was good until one of my directories just disappeared. When I plugged in the external drive it was not recognized. I was able to plug it into the computer and transfer the files, but remember I had plugged the exact same drive into the NAS before with no recognition problems. In it's defense, the transfer was at double the best network transfer speeds I had ever seen, so that was good.
I am not sure I can recommend this device unless you are a masochist and enjoy taking two or three weeks to get it working. Netgear tech support was just super, although they were a bit slow. Physically the NAS is great, well designed and easy to install drives into, just the setup is from hell, or was for me. BTW, I have been building, repairing and using computers since the old Atari 400 in the early eighties, so I DO know what I am doing.
