- t***e (2653)- Feedback left by buyer.More than a year agoVerified purchaseLens generally as described (dust as listed - that's OK - but also had some mini bubble haze over interior elements - visible with flashlight). Hard to tell if it is affecting photos, not the sharpest Tamron lens or copy I've encountered - I have a Canon version that is sharper). FAST shipping and excellent communication. Will keep because of mount (needed a Sony version).

A great lens for portraits and macro use.
The lens functions as advertised with excellent and sharp image quality at both standard and macro distances. The lens is somewhat heavy/long for a 90mm due to the macro functionality. Manual focusing is stiff at both ends of the focal range, but can be overcome. Auto focusing is usually slower with macro lens, but I did not find this to be the case with this lens. I use the lens on a Sony SLT A33 and auto focusing was fast and accurate in all lighting conditions that I have tried so far, but I have not used the lens in low light conditions.

Excellent true macro lens for APC-size, cropped sensor cameras
The Tamron Sp 60mm f2 Macro is a true macro lens, giving a 1:1 image on the sensor at its minimum focus distance. It is also a "flat field lens" like most true macro lenses giving sharp images from corner to corner. Another advantage is that it is an IF or internal focus lens, which means the lens does not extend during focusing, so the minimum focus distance or "working distance" remains constant; as a result, the 60mm lens has a similar working distance as the more common 90mm Macro lens. The one disadvantage to the Tamron 60mm Macro is that it is designed for use on a camera with an APC-size sensor and is not intended for use on a full frame sensor camera.
