Good Product, but would never pay full retail. Only buy refurbished.
Purchased refurbished model to save the monthly charges from my ISP. Decided to avoid full retail, and save with a "used" model. So far, no issues and works perfect.

A Blast from the Past
I have used many preamplifiers over the years, and found this one to be a golden nugget. I had the dual input Channel Master 7777 and had some issues, as they were sensitive with static electricity from lightening.
After replacing three of the Channel Master models, I moved over to the Winegard Chromstar Series and had no issues.
I have been very successful with both the AP-2870 and AP-2880 models as they seem to be simply last. For example, these models have the heavy duty power supply and not the "cheap" power inserter like some of the competitors.
Great for combining my UHF and VHF antennas!

Winegard Did it Right
These are "excellent" pre-amplifiers and "very" difficult to find. With cut backs and taking more cost out of product, the major antenna manufactures are no longer making "robust" and "reliable" pre-amps.
This model has the lowest noise figure of all of there pre-amps.
I hooked this up to my FM antenna and now I am listening to stations 85 miles away.
Winegard hit a home run with this product.
If you can still find these, I highly recommend to get one as these are extremely scarce and simply work for many years.
