Best bang for buck upgrade
I needed to supercharge an older desktop that had a first gen core i3 550 which is a dual core processor with hyperthreading. Although fine for most things, hyperthreading just isn't as powerful as 4 physical cores which is what the core i5 750 has. Surprisingly this processor runs very cool compared to the i3. I haven't overclocked it too much but at 3.2 GHz it runs very cool and is very stable. Overall it gives you the most bang for buck when trying to extend the useful life of an aging desktop with the lga 1156 socket.
