Easy Fix for a Common Fan Flue Boiler Problem
2 of 2 found this helpful The Ideal Classic is a simple and robust boiler. It's one vulnerability is that the fan bearings dry out and fail causing noise or outright seizure. This pattern replacement fan is identical to the original part and is very easily fitted. A tube of high-temperature sealant for the flue connection was provided which is a nice touch. Typical heating engineer quotation is over £200. Do it yourself in about 20min for under £40...

Easy No-Frills DVD/HDD Recorder
This item was bought for an elderly relative accustomed hitherto only to a VCR recorder. This model was chosen over later ones due to the simpler user interface. Compatibility with Samsung flat screen TV is excellent and the thing largely sets itself up. It's best however to get used to the features before needing to use them in anger.

Dell X300 Laptop
This is an exceptional miniature notebook. With a Pentium M processor and one of the best sound systems of any laptop [it has a sub in the docking station in addition to stereo speakers in the main unit]. There is also an SD card slot built-in which is an uncommon feature. When fitted with the high capacity battery, it will run for several hours.
