Solid and of good quality metal.
Having been caught before when driving one of these into the ground and the fact that the top edge/rim was damaged and out of shape (so the 40mm insert would not come out). I first drove this into the ground upside down and in stages, so it cut out of the ground a cylindrical hole, removing it every so often to clean the dirt from inside the spike. Once I had got almost to the depth of the top section I then turned it the right way up and with a piece of wood on top hammered it into the lawn. It is a solid as a rock and has gone down enough for the mower to clear it. I then refitted the 32mm socket. Just need to find something to plug it with so when not in use it doesn't fill up with debris. The damage was a bit disappointing but as it didnt affect my use of it not worth returning it for. If this ever comes loose can always refit it in another place or at the worst bed it in concrete.

Should have bought this in the first place
My 7 year old Hozelock pump failed and was no longer made. The replacement I though was to expensive so I bought a Fishmate 3000, a good pump but due to the fine cage it blocked up almost weekly. I am delighted with this one. No more blocking up even with the fine cage inside. Just lift out with the handle on the cage, unclip, hose out and refit. Much easier and quicker than the Fishmate and despite being 500 litre less throughput in seems more powerful. My advice, dont buy on price alone, lets hope this gives me the same service the old Hozelock pump did.

Look good enough to be real.
Fitted these for my daughter whos having trouble with vandals. They are realistic enough to deter most individuals even if closely scrutinised. As we fitted three around her house at a reasonable height it would be an ongoing job to keep replacing batteries, so we have also not bothered to fit them. I also feel that if we were seen constantly up a ladder changing them anyone seeing this would suspect "something wasn't right". Again we also removed the name from the side with nail varnish remover as a quick check on the internet would prove beyond doubt they were not real.
As for the "wire" that is in fact a plastic tube, this was glued into the bracket to improve realism.
I have toyed with the idea of fitting something on the bracket to look like an aerial thus making them look as if they are remotely (wirelessly) monitored-a job for a later date.
