Finalize it yourself for full functionality.
2 of 3 found this helpful The PCB inside has optional settlement (according to final production price, of course). My piece contains only basic components, 2 gas-dischage-tubes (GDT). OK, why not. BUT! they are NOT connected to the ground wire leading out of the case! The wire is then useless even if you connect it to the ground potential. I think there should be placed at least one additional component (marked T2 on the PCB) that connects center terminals of both GDTs to the ground wire. You must disassembly the device and make a bridge, otherwise the functionality (=protection against overvoltage) is only partial.

My favourite device, can't get it in Europe no more.
This gate is no more available on the european market. So when a lightning destroyed my old device, I was very glad to obtain a new piece by eBay from China. Even much cheaper. The electronics is the same dimension (and quality for the first sight), only the case is a bit bigger.
In comparison with the Well VoIP adapter (Well ATA172), the Linksys has logically sorted user interface. On the phone set you can easily choose (and check) the realm (VoIP provider) that you want to use, too.
To this device SPA1001 you can connect only 1 phone set (1x FXS port) and have 2 realms on it, but it is sufficient for home usage. Except a different dimension of the case the only difference from the "european version" was missing CISCO sign. It may has the positive influence to the price :)

accu with high voltage
However the technology NiZn is known for a long time, usually NiCd or NiMH cells are spread. But sometimes a device doesn't work properly at low voltage and in such case these NiZn are very useful with their voltage 1,6V. My dictaphone refused to work with the NiMH accu, but with these accu's it works fine (as well as with classic non-rechargable cells).
