Motorola V3xx ATT Phone
6 of 6 found this helpful Let me start by saying that I only buy BRAND NEW and from US Sellers ONLY and I always get the ATT Version Razors so this review is on that basis.
PROS: I have worked for ATT/Cingular since 2002 and have of course dealt with many hundreds of different model phones in my time. The V3xx is an EXCELLENT phone one of the best that you can find on the market and relatively inexpensive(on EBay roughly $100 US) the reception on this particular phone is one of the best you can find its also loud (ringer and mic) and its pretty easy to use, also is one of the few phones that still has an available option for an external antenna if you work in oil field or treeing industries this could be very beneficial to you or even if you just live in the boondocks like me. I have dealt with thousands of these units in my time and have had great success overall with them in fact I have bought over 200 of them in just the last 6 months from Dec 2009 to May 2010 because in my business there is still a really high demand for these units.
CONS: Only real issue I have with this phone is that I can almost assure you no matter who you are and how you charge it that the battery will go out after almost exactly one year coincidentally most warranties are only good for year (but thats just a personal observation).
Even with all this said I would rate this phone as 4.6 out of 5

Blackberry Pearl 8110 ATT

I work for ATT and have for over 8 years, I know pretty much every phone thats been made for the past decade and I tell the you TRUTH about them rather it be the positive or the negative, I personally use this exact same model phone and have for almost 3 years now.
Pros: Very durable(8.5 of 10) and gets EXCELLENT reception (9.5 of 10), I travel all over the nation from the mountains of Maine to the deserts of California and I can only think of a couple of phones ever on the market that got reception comparable to this phone and they are all old school Nokias. Of course its a Blackberry so it offers the same superior email sevices that no other phone maker can compete with any and all Blackberrys offer the best email service.
Cons: Even the best items have their disadvantages, the 8110 is a 2G handset which doesnt offer the faster web surfing compared to the newer 3G phones and also the 8110 wont do streaming videos or weather radars in motion. Secondly, I personally have never had a problem with mine but we do see quite commonly people have problems with the rollerball getting stuck or not rolling one way or another. The stores charge like $20-$30 to replace them but you can get them on Ebay for a couple of bucks if you want.
Hope this helps you with your decession, I personally LOVE this phone but everyone has their own opinions.

I work for ATT and have for over 8 years now so I am very, very experienced with cellular phones and I will tell you anything you want to or dont want to know about phones of any make and model, I have had many dealings with this phone, its pretty cool it runs the Windows Mobile operating system, completly touch and is a 3G handset, for the price you can pay for this phone now its not bad buy for the price in my opinion($160 Brand New in ATT Box)being that its about 2 years since its original production time which was approximately summer of 2008 (it originally cost about $400).
I would say it gets average reception (6 of 10) so dont buy it with the expectations that just becasue it is a relatively advanced that its a top of the line compared to phones now days, however it is an advanced PDA device and has a ton of options that can definately benefit the right persons (who dont live way out in the country, where reception is poor), its a pretty durable device as well, especially for a touch phone (7.5 of 10). Also a major consideration that should be made by you before purchasing this model phone is taht it seems to have a higher than average defect rate compared to other units I have carried in the past. Strangely enough if you get a good one you will never have any complaints about it and it will work perfectly fine for you but about 1 in 7 of them will give more problems that you would ever want to imagine. SO KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN BUYING, BE SURE TO DECIDE IF ITS A GAMBLE YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE.
