    Morning Memories
As someone who grew up eating sickeningly sugary cereals(Mom even put sugar on Cookie Crisps!),I've awaited a book like this. It gives a detailed history of the cereal industry without ever being boring or stodgy. The book is filled with colorful illustrations and tidbits of trivia. Did you know that Melvin Purvis, the legendary G man who caught Dillinger, was the spokesman for Post Toasties? That the mascot for Cap N' Crunch was created before the cereal was? Or that there once was a celery flavored cereal? All this and much more can be found in this fun, informative read!

    The Ultimate Crosby Chronicle
Fans of the master crooner have waited since 2001 for the second volume in Gary Giddins' encyclopedic series on Bing Crosby. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely! The initial tome took Bing from infancy to near-middle age. This one covers only six years- 1940-46- but what a remarkable period it was! Crosby's soothing voice and persona eased millions through the World War; and he achieved an unparalleled trifecta as the #1 personality in radio, recordings and cinema. If you're a casual fan, this book could prove to be too exhaustive. If you're a Crosby Superfan, it's a treasure trove of insights- letters, interviews, contemporary reviews, discography-it's all here! Can't wait for the next volume...just hope it doesn't take another twenty years!

    One of Duvall's finest!
By now, most moviegoers have seen Robert Duvall playing cantankerous older men many times. But through his fifty year career,he's displayed much versatility-and never more so than in "The Apostle". His character begins the film as a charismatic, but materialistic preacher in the vain of Jimmy Swaggart or Jim Bakker. When he catches his wife cheating on him,he definitely does not turn the other cheek...and what follows is a spiritual, but never preachy, personal journey. Supporting players such as Billy Bob Thornton and Farrah Fawcett offer strong support, but ultimately this is Duvall's film-and he creates a richly textured character that you won't soon forget.
