Insoles for Sore Hip

I bought these because as a keen walker on longer walks I have been starting to get very sore hips. These work it seems to me by supporting the arch and heel of the foot, so that as you walk you don't over-pronate onto the inner side of your foot and the weight is then kept off your hip. Sounds strange, but I say that because when wearing them I feel I am walking more upright - that there is less sideways movement (which I wasn't aware up to then I was doing) and the ache is gone from my hip. The only downside is that you have to remove any existing arch support from your shoe and some of those are quite firmly fixed in. The manufacturer also advises by improving your gait this product can also help with sore knees and lower back pain from walking.

Brilliant detective fiction

This book is part of the Lydmouth series - a fabulous series; the books are set in the fictional town of Lydmouth in the post-war era, which is captured so realistically. The characters are believable and well rounded - and the plot and tensions are developed and built up in a masterful way. If you haven't read any of these books - you are in for a treat. They are good page turners and immensely enjoyable reading.
