A wonderful look into the worlds between death and rebirth.
3 of 3 found this helpful There are some who argue this might not be the most faithful translation of the Bardo Thodol (Tibetan Book of the Dead), but it certainly is one of the most friendly and understandable. This is a complex subject matter, even for those who follow Tibetan Buddhism. As a Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Columbia University, Thurman has made The Tibetan Book of the Dead quite accessible and fairly easy to understand, by first taking the reader through a brief Tibetan history lesson before delving into the worlds of The Between (the Bardos).
Highly recommended.
