Reliable, CFW-compatible, and easy to manage
The CECH-25xx is the last of the models of the PS3 to be able to install custom firmware (CFW). It's a very reliable system (it takes long time before a PS3 Slim undergoes a Yellow Light of Death), which is the main reason I purchased it, but it has other perks, too! Not only does the power supply take less voltage, but it's also lighter, which makes it easier to lug around if you find yourself needing to switch it out for something else every now and again. They're also really cheap! I got mine for <$100, including tax and shipping! Overall, to anybody aiming to purchase a PS3 so long after its official discontinuation, a CECH-25xx is (if you're not looking for PS2 backwards compatibility) THE model to get.
P.S. Watch out! Not all CECH-25xx systems can run CFW! If the date code is 0, 9, or 1A, then they can. Otherwise, stay away!
