Mio Based Mediocore GPS can be unlocked as Pocket PC
I have a Garmin 680 Nuvi and I bought the Pink Asus R300 for my girlfriend. So I've had the chance to compare them. Both Models have Bluetooth hands Free which is a big plus since where I live they have imposed a Hands Free Driving By Law.
I'll try to point out the advantages and Disadvanatages of the R300 as I see them.
Advantages:
1) It's a very light and thin unit
2 It will either load off the internal memory or the micro SD Card. So by simply installing the Asus Pocket software (preferably on an extra card) it can be unlocked and used as a Touch screen PDA running Windows Mobile CE OS. Then you can run many Windows Mobile CE applications such as games, or media players etc. You an alway switch back to the default micro SD Card whenever you want and it does no harm to the unit booting it either way as its just temporary anyway, unless you choose to alway boot one way or the other.
3) It Plays Videos in WMV format. Nice Feature I wish I had on my Garmin.
4) Uses a Mini USB for charging, even with the Car Charger and Wall Charger.
5) It plays MP3's and Views Jpg pictures. Like Garmin
6) Has an FM Transmitter to use your car audio system as its speakers. Like Garmin
7) Expandable Micro SD card slot, came with 2gb but for $12 Can ($10US) I was able to upgrade to 4gb and 8gb is only about $25 Can ($22US)
8) Has 3D POI feature maps that can be downloaded from Navngo.com
Disadvantages:
1) The MP3 and Video sound seems very low compared to the default Navigation volume levels.
2) It seems very slow to find and capture the satellite signals.
3) The Voice Directions are missing specific Streets and are often vague at best. (ie. Drive more then 4km, Turn back where possible, In 300m turn right.) The Garmin is far more descriptive then this.
4) Slow to boot up (especially of the micro SD card.)
5) The maps seem a bit plain and the vehicle POV does not look as good as the Garmin, but this is software specific I believe and since the unit is Windows Mobile CE there are other Mapping software that can be used with it. (This is more or less the same as Mio and other GPS's using Windows Mobile CE on the market.
6) I assume you can't change the vehicle icon as you can on Garmin, at least I dn't know how, but the Voices can be changed in the Navigation software.
7) It has a 3.5" screen, I prefer the 4.3" on the Garmin 680 its just easier to see from a distance. A wider field of view, and Asus's attepts to cramp as much menu items as it can on the screen and makes them partially invisible so they can sit on top of the navigation screen but makes this very difficult to see and manage effectively.
8) Asus's website is sorely lacking in content for this device. (But Garmin's is not much better either.
In all I think its a neat little device with much potential and if the price is right its makes for a cool little gadget to play with (if its unlocked) otherwise its a very plain GPS with the exception that it has the Bluetooth and Spoken Directions.

Strongest menthol product in the world.
Been using this for years since my Cambodian wife introduced me to it. Strongest menthol product on the market. Works great! Very potent. It will make your eyes water but it is so good and worth it. Products seem small, but go a long way and pack a big punch. Very good value for the money. Highly Recommended for aches and pains, headaches and nausea.

The Most Versitile Multimedia Portable on the Market
The Sony PSP 1001 is the most advanced portable gaming system to date. The only thing lacking to really make it the perfect package is a touch screen. (Considering just about every gadget has one these days from the Nintendo DS, Hand Held PDA's, GPS devices, Iphones, Blackberry's, etc...the list goes on and on.) One could argue that its been kept out to keep the price down, but newer revisions of the PSP 2000/3000 have included additional perks like TV out, and Built in Camera's and mics, etc, we still haven't seen even a Limited Edition release with a touch screen.
Outside of that the PSP has it all. A large display (good quality but not as sharp and clear as the IPOD Video), Wifi (although its only B and not G speed), It plays Movies, Music, Games, and views pictures, it even allows you to cruise the internet. (Although not perfect, its nice to have.) I have to applaud Sony for finally starting to step away from their 100% proprietary technologies and starting to support more widely used standards both in media formats and hardware accessories. It's nice to have the memory expandability options as new memory cards increase in size and come down in price. I think its awesome that you can buy add ons from ebay like camera's GPS, FM Tuners, etc, I think it would be even better if they found a way to add all this into the system internally and still keep the costs down. (Wouldn't it be nice to have a Cell phone option too?) I can think of a million other things I'd like it to do as well :)
Two of my biggest gripes with the PSP are the sometimes uncomfortable handling of the unit in your hands especially after long game play, it just hurts after a while, and I have larger adult hands, I can't imagine the difficulty kids must have. Its just awkward to hold, its not ergonomically designed, a more curved design would be better then the boxy flat one. The second gripe I have is that the buttons do not have back lights, so when playing in the dark you can't see the buttons at all, especially the tiny ones at the bottom for home, start, volume, etc. I mean if cell phones can have them why can't the PSP. Yes I know one could argue it would put extra strain on the battery usage, but they could give the option of turning it on or off, and besides I mostly play with the AC plugged in anyway.
The Games look great, very near PS2 quality graphics and game play, with trimmed back graphics like dumbed down backgrounds in some cases. I just wish there were far more titles available. The library seems lacking compared to other game libraries, but they do have some great titles, but the prices seem to be very high considering that you could pick up the same titles on the PS2 or PS3 often for less money and better looking, but I guess thats the trade off for portability. That being said, in my opinion the PSP has the best quality games for any portable system out there today.
All in All I love my PSP. My 11 yr old son loves my PSP so much that he has decided he has out grown his Nintendo DS and wants a PSP too. (Won't he be thrilled to discover he's getting one for his Birthday this Month :) )
