    Vastly Under-Recognized Holiday Classic
A complicated back-story as to how this got made, but the finished film is much under-valued. Gregg Toland, who provided the dazzle for "Citizen Kane," is the cinematographer. Cary Grant is Cary Grant—and he always had that ability to bring out the best in his co-stars. And it’s now known that Charles Brackett & Billy Wilder, at first uncredited, worked as script doctors. The result, if you can watch with old fashioned attention, is a light but serious comedy/romance with very nuanced, sharp observations that transcend any religious denominations or heavy handed moral sermons. Which is why it got off to a slow start in terms of popularity. It deserves as much recognition as "It’s A Wonderful Life"—if we’re going to talk angels and the weight of truly religious holidays and values. It's a shame it's essentially Out of Print.

Great computing without all the bells & whistles
I'd often wondered what someone didn't design a computer that was focused on the basics, without all the bells & whistles of, say, an over-priced Apple. I use the technology mainly for word processing & searces. This has been perfect--all the virtues that have already been mentioned here--easy to set up, very fast, great screen, no worries about viruses, fine keyboard. I've never had a problem with it, as opposed to my Apple iMac, which had presented many problems--& contrary to received opinion, I've had maddening experiences trying to solve those, despite having the Apple extended contract & a local "genius bar"! (They returned it to me with the entire hard drive wiped clean--& with delay & an attitude--when IT expert friends told me it was unnecessary. I couldn't even retrieve their Pages WP system, since they said it wouldn't work with a newer operating system--& which I had paid for.) I did have trouble adjusting to the touch pad, though i have a slight tremor in my right hand. And Google is notoriously invasive. But they all gather & sell information.Incidentally, contrary to a previous post, there is a back space key (of course).

Cary Grant Goes to High School
This isn't the best Cary Grant movie by far, but it's still better than pretty much anything you'll pick up at Borders or on Ebay. At this point in his career, Cary Grant had become Cary Grant--so almost any movie of his was about the persona he had established: the man of the world, suave and witty, relaxed in his ability to handle anything that came his way. What comes his way is an infatuated high-schooler (Temple) and an icy, no-nonsense sister (Myrna Loy), who happens to be a judge. The joke here is sentencing Cary Grant back to high school & its many indignities. He survives both high school and what in some ways is a very weird plot. A good bit of light fun, but it will have to live in the shadow of The Awful Truth, Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, Only Angels Have Wings, Notorious, North by Northwest, Charade. But let's not complain that he made so many wonderful movies!
