chronicles of riddick - the director's cut
1 of 1 found this helpful the cinematic release of he chronicles of riddick is pap. everyone told me so after it came out at the cinema and i was right to believe them. i have subsequently seen the cinematic release and it's not pleasing.
BUT
i didn't see the cinematic release first, gav leant me and mark the director's cut. which is ace! i mean, it's not the greatest piece of cinema to kiss planet earth, it's a bit conan-the-barbarian-in-space, but the plot is coherent (unlike in the cinematic release) and the fight scenes are awesome (most of which were heavily cut-back in the cinematic release).
In short, if you can forgive some terrible naming ("deathmongers are heading to the underverse" ... teeheehee ...), and you happen to like ...
explosions! space war! vin diesel ninja-ing people! some nice costumes and graphics and that! random judi dench-ness! planets on fire!
... you'll probably love the director's cut of chronicles of riddick as dearly as i do.

Yep
Gritty post-apoclyptic-y sci-fi that has a lovely sphagetti western flavour.
