Less stuff in your go bag
Every time I travel for work -- heck, even if for vacation, just in case I need to divert -- I carry at least two methods to program the scores of Cisco routers at remote sites I sometimes need to access via their console port. The tool I always carry combines the USB-to-serial adapter and the pale blue console cable (serial to RJ45) in one unit, but I always take a USB-to-serial adapter as well.
With this unit and a mini null modem adapter, plus a dime-a-dozen Cat5/6/7 cable, I can skip carrying the Cisco console cable. (Initially did not know I would need the null modem but found my system needed it.)

Clear sound, easy to use
Does exactly what I want - provides a little louder speaker, clear, with good microphone, without needing a power source much less an unreliable BT connection. Nothing special comes from using the app.
