I am mainly a stay-at-home mom. A little over a year ago my oldest daughter (she's 8 now) got interested in ice skating. She started competing and life hasn't been the same since. As a former skater myself, I am now a coach at her rink.

Very Handy Tool
Although I've skated for years, I've never coached. This book has proved to be an invaluable tool to me. It breaks each move down which makes it easy for me to explain it to my students. I had been looking for a book like this and I've finally found exactly what I wanted. It's one thing to be able to perform the move/jump yourself. It's a completely different thing trying to explain it to someone else. I highly recommend this book for the beginning coach or figure skater. It goes over everything from simple crossovers to complex spins and jumps. If you're thinking about buying it, DO IT!

Your New Best Friend
I have never attempted to tackle a book of this size, but it was so easy! I couldn't put it down. The rest of my life was on hold for a week while I read this book. The characters are so interesting and the story is written in a way that leaves you wanting more. This is the first book in a four book series so the first chapter of the second book is at the end. Great marketing idea! I ran out and bought the second book the next day. I've heard of boys and girls enjoying this book... from ages 13 to 50! Can't wait for the movie!
