Binatone Luna Cordless Phone with Answer Machine - Twin.

Excellent home landline phone solution
The best part (hardware): The secondary handset does not need to be connected to a telephone extension socket. The worst part: The manual is a little overwhelming to get through. Patience is required. Not recommended for the technophobic. The ear-splitting part: The factory-new default settings have the ringer volume at full blast. I'm almost positive I heard my neighbours run for their own phones. The best part (software): Everything is configurable from either handset, with the exception that one handset cannot change settings on the other. 'Everything' includes the 20-entry built-in phonebook, the time and date, the answerphone settings and playback, call answering behaviour, remote answerphone access, the built-in alarm clock and the list of recent inbound calls. The answerphone can also be used to screen incoming calls, and caller number display is available if you're willing to pay your telephone provider (BT/Virgin/etc.) to supply that information. In this day and age of smartphones, this solution won't be for everyone, and I'd also recommend having a dumb landline phone to hand just in case the mains power goes out (this system will not work without power), but otherwise, this is a very capable and useful system.
Joinus Scientific Function Calculator With 240 Calculation Functions 12 Digits

Bargain Scientific Calculator
If you're looking for a cheap Chinese clone of a name-brand calculator, you can't go far wrong with the Joinus JS-82MS. It is function-for-function identical, works in exactly the same way, and the build quality is surprisingly good for the price. Calculations are correct and all modes are present. (Though this is hardly a surprise given it seems the name-brand chip firmware has been cloned / reverse-engineered exactly). It even has a slight advantage over the name brand in that it takes AAA batteries in an easily accessible compartment, and so no need to dismantle the calculator to replace the batteries. Suitable for GCSE and A-level students on a tight budget.
PICTEK USB Wired Mouse Gaming Office Optical Mice Scroll For PC Laptop Computer

Decent inexpensive gaming mouse
Works fine as a mouse. It has the usual extra couple of buttons found on basic gaming mice, a DPI modifier (sensitivity) button, plus one other that changes the lighting built into the mouse. The latter button is fairly easy to catch accidentally with the thumb. This does not affect the mouse performance in any way, but it might take the unsuspecting user by surprise if the lighting changes. I assume the DPI and lighting buttons can be also reprogrammed / made accessible to the computer using the driver, but I am unable to test this as I use an operating system that the driver doesn't support. Right now, it's still early in my usage of the mouse (only had it a couple of weeks), and everything is functioning fine. Long may this continue.
