Resident Evil - Extinction: The Blu-ray Version
0 of 1 found this helpful This short review specifically applies to the Blu-ray version of the Resident Evil - Extinction.
If you have a Blu-ray Player, or if you have a PlayStation 3, then you should consider purchasing the Blu-ray version of the film instead. Not only that it is packed with special features, the sound and picture qualities will simply blow you away.
This is how I would watch this film in the Blu-ray version:
(1) Watch it through a HDTV, ensure your TV will automatically switch to 1080p if available, if not, then 1080i.
(2) Some good quality HDTV will allow you to select how the picture should be display. Many has the "cinema" setting, which displays the "basic" HD picture quality. However, some TV will also have the "dynamic" setting. Try this and you will be amazed.
(3) Use a surround sound system - position all your speakers correctly. It's not as technical as it seems. Don't forget to use the cinema mode if available.
(4) Don't sit too close to the HDTV though - for a 32" HD Ready TV, you will need to sit at 1.8m away from the TV; or 1.3m if it is Full HDTV (i.e. 1080p). For 40", it's 2.2m away if it is a HD Ready TV, or 1.6m if it is a Full HDTV.
(5) Connect all your equipment via HDMI (and the sound cables for the speakers, of course).
(6) Sit back, lights off and enjoy.
This Blu-ray experience of the film may make you jump! (it did on me!!!)
