It does the job (sort of) But it won't lock into any of the positions mentioned ?
1 of 1 found this helpful This product won't lock into any position you might require as suggested by the manufacturer? It will cause you a headache with it's current design as it will keep flopping down as soon as an auxiliary lead is put to the unit. Especially if like my vehicle, the cigarette lighter socket is on the dash and not in the centre console as shown in the manufacturers pics.
I have had to modify this unit to lock it into place and not flop about, by way of a large standard paper clip that I wedged into the plastic gear wheel and I have used electrical tape to hold it all in position!! Even after all this I have had to use the unit upside down with the red on light facing the floor, which in my opinion is a better option (so you don't get a red glow in your eyes).
I think it's back to the drawing board with the manufacturers design!!
