Upbeat songs are catchy, I find other songs wanting.
I enjoy music by artists such as Amy Winehouse. As such, this seemed a sure winner. I would say after about a month of varied listening I still enjoy about half of the album.
My personal taste leans more toward the groove/percussion filled songs. There are several tracks on this album that provide that. Her voice is raspy, but I wouldn't quite call it soulful. Still, the upbeat songs have me moving in my seat in the car.
I am not drawn to her voice though, and doubt I will search her out again. She is not terrible by any means, but lacks clarity and beauty, in my opinion. The slower songs don't carry well as a result.
Find this album at a good price (think single digit) or download the individual songs you desire is my advice.

Classic music for near any occasion
Good time feel with energy and soul. Great for background music, sounds to cook with, or just sit back and enjoy.
If you don't find yourself tapping a foot or find yourself dancing, check your pulse!

Sit back and enjoy
1 of 1 found this helpful I previewed this album on a website and was immediately drawn in. Smooth, rhythmical offerings. A little repetitive at times, but it brings the album together as a whole. It is hard to go wrong with Putumayo albums at prices lower than $6.
