Every American Needs To Know Our History
I'm a big fan of Kenneth C. Davis and his Don't Know Much About books. I like his style of writing to try to make reading and learning more enjoyable to the reader. The Don't Know Much About American History was no exception. It is geared towards the younger reader but sometimes juvenile non-fiction is more direct. He brings all his subjects to life and I highly recommend his books.

I Hope Men Won't Disappear!
I bought the book because Bryan Sykes is one of my favorite authors. I love the book because I love the topic, MEN! It has taken me some time to read the book. Not entirely the book's fault because I am only reading it when I'm on my exercise bike of which I usually avoid (the bike) like the flu. I recommend the book to others who enjoy reading about genetics. I have nearly half of the book highlighted because of all the passages I want to reread. (When I get the energy to ride again.) I hope that men will always be a part of our world!

The Chalice & the Blade
I have a 'to read' list- if I get a second "Did you read?" recommend, it climbs up the list & I begin my ebay search to buy it now.
What I loved about this book- was all the elements of a great read to me. Evolution, human nature, archaeology, power struggle between men & women, and above all- history. Some consider this book to have a feminist agenda but I found she showed equality and harmony between the genders.
I only wished the chapters delved deeper. I believe this author with all her source material got edited to the bare bone. Editors should let the reader seperate more of the chaff from the wheat themselves. I get the inkling there was another story left on the editing table.
