Classic Christianity Illustrated by Bob George (1993, P
I try to keep a supply of this fantastic book on hand to share with new believers, young Christians, and Christians yoked in the bondage of legalism. It explains in words, examples, and cartoons, vital foundational truths concerning Jesus Christ (i.e. finality of the Cross, security of the believer, eternal life, the resurrection, forgiveness of sin, and the grace of God) that are too often missed in church, Sunday school, and Bible studies. Bob George is an excellent teacher, with other great books, as well. His emphasis is helping believers build a firm spiritual foundation, dispel error by the renewing of the mind by the Word of God, and enjoying true Christian liberty in order to share the Good News of the Gospel. I highly recommend this book, as well as the regular version of "Classic Christianity," "Growing in Grace," and other Bob George books. He has a good grasp of the transition from Romans 7 to Romans 8 that can revolutionize the lives of Christ followers and deliver them from the trappings of guilt and constant sin-consciousness to genuine freedom in Christ.
